Internetfråga – Aprilskämt eller ej?

Följande går att läsa på det lokal Hua Hin-forumet där det påstås att Internet stängs av 24 timmar fom i morgon 08.00 US Pacific Time (15.00 Thailändsk tid) för att permanent övergå till IPv6 protokollet.

Postaren påstår att det inte rör sig om ett aprilskämt så någon i branschen bör kanske känna till om det stämmer eller om det ändå faktiskt rör sig om ett aprilskämt, vilket jag tror att det är. Skulle det vara sant innebär det ju att alla existerande XP-maskiner blir obrukbara för internet.

The IPv4 vs IPv6

According to the original Internet Protocol IPv4 network addresses all consist of four numbers separated by periods between 0 and 255 So theoretically would be 256 x 256 x 256 x 256 available addresses from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255, which is 4,294,967,296 individual addresses. Det finns även länkar till mer information, det här är för övrigt något som IIS pushar ordentligt på för att det ska komma igång i Sverige. Men det är absolut ingen “bomb” det handlar om, både IPv4 och IPv6 kommer att fungera även fortsättningsvis, men etableringstakten för IPv6 är tyvärr inte på önskad nivå.

Men lite kul att dom ändå presenterar alla den fakta dom gör.
Det blir liksom lite mer troligt då.
Att IP adresser skulle ta slut har det spekulerats om länge så det är en snygg grej att bygga på. :thumbright:

Jag tycker dock att skämtet tappar en del sting pga de dubbla påståendena att det inte rör sig om ett aprilskämt.
